Isolde Ohlbaum - New at laif
We are delighted that the works of German portrait photographer Isolde Ohlbaum will be enriching our database with her archives containing around 15,000 images.
Over the past decades, Isolde Ohlbaum has photographed almost all the major German writers of the 20th century - as well as a number of big international names.
From newcomers to Nobel Prize winners, almost all of them have posed for Ohlbaum.
Isolde Ohlbaum grew up in Munich, where she studied at what used to be the Bavarian state photography academy. After initially working in photojournalism she discovered her true passion: the portrait.
Ever since, she has been working freelance for publishers, newspapers and magazines. Her extensive work has also resulted in the production of books, photo volumes and calendars. She has received numerous awards, and exhibitions of her work in Europe always generate great interest.
