On 12th February 2005 the curtains will literally be coming down in New York's Central Park for the start of the new project by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, which is entitled 'The Gates'. For two weeks 7,500 gates along the roads in Central Park will be covered with eye-catching bright orange curtains.

Wolfgang Volz, who has been working closely with both artists since 1972 and has photographed many of their projects, has also accompanied 'The Gates' since its early planning stages. You can find a small selection of the extensive image material from the project on this website.
