Christoph Goedan: Photo Book- Die Grossen Muetter
laif photographer Christoph Goedan spent two months in the Tanzanian province of Kagera and in the townships around Durban in South Africa. Here he visited 55 families afflicted with AIDS. As well as taking portrait photos, he conducted interviews with grandmothers who recounted how the lives of their families have been changed by the disease and of the difficulties they face in the daily struggle for survival.
The images are contained in a new photo book, 'Die grossen Muetter - Leben mit Aids in Afrika', which can be ordered from 8 December 2011 at a special price of 26,00 euros (including postage and package) from Christoph Goedan (c.goedan@osnanet.de) as long as stocks last. Thereafter, the book can be purchased from retailers for 29,90 euros.

For this portrait series Christoph Goedan was awarded the Kindernothilfe Media Prize in 2010.
