On 23.06.2011 the laif photographer team Neumann and Rodtmann will open their exhibition "Solar Beauties" in the "Pool" at Planet Modulor, Moritzplatz, in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

The show features portraits of young women, the "solar beauties": dark tans from the solarium, shaved eyebrows, piercings and died hair are their radical hallmark. Neumann and Rodtmann have photographed the mask-like faces in a way that is neutral but intense. The images reveal the woman behind the mask.

On the next evening, Neumann and Rodtmann will be inviting two photographers to present their pictures on the theme of "beauty".
This lecture will be presented by Frauke Berndt, literary specialist from the University of Tuebingen. 
With this evening, Neumann and Rodtmann will be starting a series of lectures on photographic themes.
