PIXELPROJEKT RUHRGEBIET
The Pixelprojekt Ruhrgebiet is a digital collection of photo perspectives that give visual expression to memories of the Ruhr area of Germany – a project by independent photographers.
In a virtual gallery the Pixelprojekt Ruhrgebiet gathers images of the Ruhr that document how the region has changed over the years. The jury has been very stringent, and at pixelprojekt-ruhrgebiet you can find selected photo series by German and international photographers that have worked or are still working in the Ruhr, fine art photographers, college professors, city and press photographers as well as trainees, newcomers and amateurs that have already won awards.
The photographers all have a particular angle on the Ruhr, which is personal and original. Most of the works present aspects of the region's industrial heritage, others scenes of urban life, work and leisure, culture and sport or nature and the landscape.
Some originals from parts of the series will be exhibited from May 2 to June 26, 2005 at the Science Park in Gelsenkirchen.
The exhibition will be open daily from 8am to 8pm at:
Wissenschaftspark Gelsenkirchen
Munscheidstr. 14
